Myalee | Class of 2017

On the first day of school after Christmas break, January 2014, I walked into my new elective: photography. I decided to take that class because I figured it’d be an easy A; I already knew how to use a camera, so how hard could the class be? I had absolutely no idea how much my life would change by the end of that semester.

After just one or two assignments, I was in love with the art. After a few months, I knew I wanted it to be my career one day. And by the beginning of the next school year, I was planning the opening of my business.

I know what you’re thinking: how does any of this apply to this gorgeous girl’s senior portraits? Well, funny story. She was in that photography class with me. When I realized that about halfway through our early morning shoot, I had to step back for a second and let it sink in. In a way, this girl has been on this journey with me since the beginning. She was there as I found the passion that would, in just two years’ time, grow into what it is today. Perhaps I’m just being emotional, but I feel that we have some sort of bond because of that.

But maybe I’m just emotional.

This shoot started at 7:30 in the morning. I felt crazy even suggesting such an early hour, but I’m so glad I did. The light was perfect, the location was perfect, and this girl was perfect. Can’t you see her modeling?? I’m so thankful she was so open to all my ideas, I’m so proud of how these came out!
